TARS stands for The Agricultural Regulatory Services, a legal defense insurance policy that will provide $250,000 of defense coverage for alleged environmental infractions. The policy, underwritten by Lloyd’s of London, also includes environmental consultation, investigation costs to prove your case, and legal representation against all local, state, and federal environmental regulatory agencies.

TARS was inspired by a California farmer who, after fighting five separate alleged environmental violations, was faced with $100,000 in legal bills. After enduring years of governmental harassment and undue stress, Mr. Anselmo courageously and defiantly fought back against the government—and won.

An Aggressive Defense
TARS will not take the easy way out by negotiating an expedited settlement with the government. On the contrary, TARS was formed to defend your right to conduct agricultural business on your land in a normal and customary manner, free of fear of overbearing regulatory agencies.

Experienced Legal Support
TARS policyholders are defended by a statewide panel of experienced agricultural attorneys, retained through pooled premiums of policyholders. If a policyholder is served suit papers by a governmental agency, all he or she must do is to submit claim paperwork to TARS. TARS handles it from there.
